Criminal Minds: Evolution season 19 episode 4: More on the copycat

As we look towards Criminal Minds: Evolution season 19 episode 4, there are a few things to anticipate. Where do we start?

Well, from a casting point of view, we do recognize that a lot of people are already chattering about getting to see Connor Storrie of Heated Rivalry make his debut. At the same time, this is a story that could really move forward the mythology around one of the major UnSubs this season: A copycat of one Elias Voit. It has been teased already, after all, across multiple cliffhangers!

Speaking to TV Insider, showrunner Erica Messer outlines the story ahead, and also how the media / podcasts surrounding Voit plays a role in everything that happens:

“That was like the last thing he ever would have wanted. And part of that fear of the world knowing who he is is that there might be somebody who’s really got a crush on that idea of that kind of bad guy, and that’s exactly where we go this year. Somebody is enamored with who Voit is, what he’s done, and the idea of copying him in any way kind of terrifies everyone. We’ve never done that on the show for more than maybe an episode of, oh, this feels like Zodiac or something like that, but this was like, this is going to be the season.”

Obviously, Voit has faced the music (at least to some extent) about the things that he has done personally — but what about others directly inspired by him? He did have a network but at the same time, what we are seeing here is obviously different for a number of reasons.
