Love Island USA season 8 episode 2: Who did Gabriel, Kayda pick?

We moved into Love Island USA season 8 episode 2 tonight with the firm expectation that the new bombshells would cause some chaos. So what did we end up getting?

First and foremost, we gotta say that Beatriz ended up being a main character through a lot of this. A lot of the villa, Sean included, was totally shocked by her decision to take off with Gabriel. To make matters all the more messy, Gabriel then chose her over Trinity, leaving Sean in a position where all of this may have hurt so much more. (Is there any consolation here in the idea that Sean and Kenzie could have something brewing — or, is it all too early to tell with people who want to stay in the villa?)

As for the other bombshell, Kayda had a chance to spend a ton of time with Bryce and Zach and based on every moment we saw of her in this episode, it felt crystal-clear that she was going to end up choosing Zach. Despite being an extremely attractive guy, it feels like Bryce has really struggled to make major connections in the villa to this point.

So where are things going to go from here? The funny thing is that both Trinity and Bryce each opted to give the bombshells a chance and yet, they ended up back where they started: They are now a couple again. Does this mean that they will last? Not exactly.

As for Kenzie and Sean…

At the end of the episode, they faced the fire pit and were told that they are both now single and vulnerable. (The show really went diabolical in having Zach read to Kenzie her status in the villa. Why in the world are you going to torment her like that?)
