Will Trent season 5 premiere date: A June 2026 update

Is there any chance at all that we are going to be hearing more about a Will Trent season 5 between now and then the end of June?

Well, make no mistake here first and foremost — we would love to see the show back in the reasonably near future. It remains one of the most consistently strong crime dramas on network TV. However, at the same time there is a pretty specific pattern when it comes to how ABC likes to program it. New seasons tend to be programmed every January and while it would be great to see it back sooner, there are no signs that this is going to be considered here. After all, this is not a show currently listed anywhere on the fall schedule.

So with everything that we have already stated in mind, the chances of us getting a premiere date for season 5 this month are microscopic. We tend to think we will be lucky if an official one is announced at some point around October or November, as that would give us a few months to anticipate more of what is to come.

In so many ways, we imagine that there are going to be different elements in the next chapter of Will’s story. Angie is now a parent and after the death of Seth, it also means that she and Will may be spending more time together than they did in season 4. He has already been there for her through one of the most difficult times in her life. We are pretty confident when we say that there will be new foes introduced to keep the drama there — after all, that has always been a part of the show’s DNA. Why change that now?
