Next week on Bravo, you are going to have a chance to see Top Chef: Carolinas episode 14 — are you ready to dive into the finale?

Of course, it goes without saying that there is a lot to be excited about entering the final showdown here, mostly because we know how almost anything can happen at the end of one of these seasons. We like to think that overall results matter over the course of the season, but that is not always the case! It can just come down to you delivering your very best food in the moment it matters. Laurence, Rhoda, and Sherry are the three that are left, and the pressure is about to get higher than ever.

The main challenge at the heart of the finale is simple: Creating a progressive four-course dish that really innovates and delivers outstanding food. Based on some of the feedback that we saw from the judges, all of them delivered in their own unique way. It also appears that this could be one of the closest finales to call in recent memory, which is honestly thrilling — this show is infinitely better when there are not just close calls, but also real debates online after the fact. We don’t get to taste the food! We just have to take the judges’ word for it a lot of the time.

More so than rooting for any individual person at this point (all three of the finalists are great), we really just want there to be an opportunity for them all to really deliver something that truly represents themselves. We heard them each describe in some way what the competition means to them, so why not try not to physically represent that through their final food of the season?
