In just a matter of hours you are going to see Euphoria season 3 episode 8 — so what better time for a debate? Are we really about to see the series finale for the groundbreaking and controversial HBO drama?

We should note that the reason for confusion on this subject right now is pretty clear, and also tied to the way in which it has been promoted in general. After all, we have seen an array of mixed signals all across the board as to what could be coming up. Zendaya mentioned on The Jennifer Hudson Show earlier this year that this would be the end for her playing Rue. However, the network itself has promoted tonight’s episode as the “season finale” — though they have also used social media to mention that there is only one episode left time and time again without clarification as to what this actually means for the most part. Basically, we ted to think that they are fine having this be confusing.

What adds to all of this even further? Well, consider a new profile with Alexa Demie in The Hollywood Reporter which denotes tonight as the series finale multiple multiples.

Our current estimate of things

Our general sentiment is that tonight will likely be the Euphoria series finale — though depending on if all the rest of the major characters survive, HBO may be trying to give themselves some sort of an out. There is always a chance that Sam Levinson has an idea a year or two down the road and if the main cast are interested in coming back, something more could happen. Meanwhile, there is also still a chance at some sort of further spin-off featuring some of these characters and from where we sit, it would be rather foolish to think that the network would shy away from some of that.
