Dutton Ranch season 1 episode 5: More Oreana backstory coming?

As we get prepared to see Dutton Ranch season 1 episode 5 arrive on Paramount+ this coming Friday, it makes sense to have questions about Oreana. Take, at least for starters, why she acts the way in which she does. Are there specific things motivating her? What we know so far is that she does have some feelings for Carter, and she also seems to be rather averse to the idea of running the 10-Petal Ranch someday.

Now, it does feel easy to chalk up at least some of this to maturity and/or the specific spot that Oreana is in right now in her life. However, is there also a good chance that a little bit more is going on here? For now, we’re banking on that.

To get a little more news on the subject, here is what Natalie Alyn Lind had to say to Elle:

If you look at the patterns in their lives and see the way that Rob-Will was raised and the craziness that’s happened in the family, I think that the 10-Petal—at this phase in Oreana’s life—does represent a lot of trauma.

But I think that people are going to absolutely love the backstory of the Jacksons, the same way that they love the backstory of the Duttons. Without giving anything away, there’s a lot that happens within this family’s dynamic. It goes back to breaking the generational curse, where Oreana’s wanting to do things differently.

This entire show is a modernized take on Yellowstone, and it feels different than the original, so it’s interesting to see a female character walk into such a grand empire and not want to just be given things. She wants to work for things, and she wants to work things out in a different way.

That’s going to be something that I think fans are really going to find interesting, the backstory to the Jacksons….It’s going to explain why Oreana is acting the way that she is.

We do not think that Dutton Ranch is really going to feel that much pressure to rush into any reveals — and why would they? It is important to note, after all, that we are still pretty early into the show. There is room to explore so much more!
