Is Ash Santos leaving Marshals, Dre Cruz after season 1 finale?

Following what you saw on the Marshals season 1 finale tonight on CBS, have we seen the last of Ash Santos as Andrea “Dre” Cruz?

On paper, it is easy to say that the answer to this is yet for a couple of reasons. Not only did the character appear as though she was ready to say goodbye, she actually did so to a number of members of the team. A lot of wheels are in motion at this point to her saying farewell to a lot of this world.

However, here is the thing: The Weaver reveal could change things, as could a certain shootout elsewhere. The last thing that we want to do is make any assumptions. There is no official intel suggesting that Santos is leaving, so make of that whatever you want. We do think that her return as the character could be prompted by story events, or she could exist in some other surprising manner. We know that she went through a lot in season 1, but if you want to see this unit as a found family, it may be hard to leave it when the chips ultimately fall.

The real question to us at this point is just how long we are going to be stuck waiting for answers one way or another. You can argue that this is going to be a hard thing to hide over the course of production so we may get an answer long before season 2 premieres. There are still a lot of other mysteries to wonder about if that one does get revealed, including some of what we could learn when it comes to Weaver and what his long-term role is going to now be.
