Foundation season 4 premiere date: A May 2026 update

Are we getting closer to a Foundation season 4 premiere date over at Apple TV? If nothing else, we do think it makes a little sense to be feeling impatient.
After all, remember the following here first and foremost — filming for the sci-fi epic started up close to the start of the year and because of that, we have to think that everyone is close to wrapping things up at this point. Obviously, this is not a show that can be put together in a short period of time — it is epic in scope, has a ton of important characters, and is almost always going to test all of its performers. This is challenging material but that is also a reason for its overall excellence. There are so few shows out there quite like it!

Now that we have said all of that, this is where we do have to get to the part of this piece where we share the unfortunate premiere-date news: We will be lucky to hear anything more on the subject here until close to the end of the year. After all, if you are the streaming service, you probably do not believe that there is much of a reason to hand out more information until episodes are starting to be edited and completed. Foundation requires a good many visual effects and even when some of the installments are ready to air, Apple may still hold onto them until we reach a perfect point in the schedule. This is something that happens with streaming shows all across the board, and is hardly exclusive to this one.
In general, our feeling is that the Asimov adaptation will actually air at some point in the spring or summer of next year. Yes, we are aware that this is a long time removed from season 3 but at the same time, a two-year wait between seasons is not that bad when you look at what is happening with Severance much of the time.
