Half Man episode 6 preview: The devastating finale

As we get prepared to see Half Man episode 6 over on HBO next week, it is fair to have some sort of pit in your stomach.

After all, we are gearing up now for what is going to be the enormous finale for the Richard Gadd series, one that is fascinating in part due to the fact that we already have some sort of answer. We know that this is building towards a particularly violent end, one that goes back to a series of incidents that happened across a number of different periods in the past. We know now that at the wedding, Niall and Ruben have walked away from the rest of the guests. Meanwhile, we know that Ruben ends up being carted away. That’s the whole of it at present, and the finale should fill in the gaps.

Much like Baby Reindeer before it, this is a show from Gadd meant to have a defined beginning, middle, and end. We do think that everything is going to fall into place within this finale. Does that mean we’re going to get an ending that everyone is happy with? That’s a hard thing to say, especially because happiness has never really been a part of the equation with this show. Instead, it is really just all about finding a way in order to end a cycle of toxic masculinity, even if it means the end result is devastating for everyone involved.
