The Amazing Race 39 premiere date: A May 2026 update

Do you want to get more news when it comes to The Amazing Race 39, including a premiere date, between now and the end of May? We are lucky in some ways to have a little bit of information, but does that mean we’ve got all of it? Hardly.

Now, let’s just start by noting what the folks at CBS have already shared. First and foremost, it has been confirmed that a 39th season is airing this fall; meanwhile, we know that this installment has already been filmed. The network often does like to have a season banked in advance early, mostly so that they can have it as a utility player for whatever circumstance does come their way. They don’t need it until fall, and that is when we will have a chance to see it.

So is there any chance that we’re going to get an exact launch date before the month wraps up? That would be wonderful but at the same time, it is also far from likely at present. Instead, the most likely situation is that the network is going to announce a date in June or July, and we will see the Race return in late September or early October. Odds are, it will surface whenever the latest season of Big Brother is over and after Survivor 51 gets going.

As for what we want for this season…

Really, so much of the joy of The Amazing Race comes from watching teams traverse the globe. Season 38, reality TV casting aside, felt far too concentrated on Europe and really did not provide enough of that cultural experience that we really enjoy about the show. It is an opportunity to bring parts of humanity to viewers that you really do not get anywhere else.
