Marshals season 1 episode 12: Does Cal have cancer?

We knew that Marshals season 1 episode 12 was going to feature a number of big reveals, but who anticipated one so personal?

After all, we learned over the course of this episode that Cal is dealing with a rare form of cancer, one that he has not wanted to disclose for a number of reasons. Yet, this is something that plays a big part in his life, and he will have to contend with it in one way or another. There are some of the physical challenges that come with it, but then also the emotional ones.

Speaking about the reveal further to TVLine, here is some of Logan Marshall-Green had to say about the story:

“Cancer is too important a topic to dance around … It affects literally everyone, and I hope we get a chance to really break him down the way cancer breaks down humans. It doesn’t matter whether you fought for the country or not, it doesn’t matter what you do, this thing is not biased. So I hope Cal is put through the wringer with this, because that’s the story that needs to be told. Don’t get me wrong, there have been great advancements in technology, and I think those are also worthy of the story when it comes to cancer, but from what I know, even with those advancements, there’s still a lot of pain.”

Based on what Cal told Belle, he wants to try and feel normal for at least the immediate future — but there are still a lot of things he needs to figure out. Take, a proper treatment plan, including just how he is going to keep working in the midst of all this. From what we can tell, it is not going to be easy.
