FBI season 9 premiere date hopes over at CBS

Following the big finale that you get tonight on CBS, doesn’t it make sense to want more news on FBI season 9? From where we sit, we certainly think so!

As a great launching-off point here in this piece, let’s just start by noting that the Wolf Entertainment crime drama has already been renewed, and that information has been out there for a while. Because of this, we are now in a spot where we simply have to sit back and wonder what all of the stories are going to be — let alone when it will actually premiere.

Earlier this spring CBS released their fall schedule and within that, it was confirmed that the next FBI season will be once again on the air in the fall, albeit a little bit earlier on Monday nights at 8:00 p.m. Eastern. (It will be followed once more by the CIA spin-off show.) We are thinking that a late September or early October premiere date makes the most sense, with an official announcement coming at some point over the next few months.

Could season 9 be the final one?

At this point, we are certainly at a spot here where you have to wonder, largely because shows tend to get more expensive at this point and CBS does not have full ownership in the property. (That is often a factor, and it may have played into why Most Wanted and International both were canceled at a particular point in time.) If there is a reason to be more hopeful here, it is that this is the flagship show in the franchise and beyond just that, Wolf Entertainment is really good at balancing budgets and keeping their shows on the air a really long time. Just take a look at both the One Chicago and Law & Order universes at NBC.
