Widow’s Bay season 1 episode 5 spoilers: What will Patricia do now?
Coming out of this week’s new episode of Widow’s Bay on Apple TV, it does feel easier to have opinions on Patricia. This is a woman who is seemingly desperate to be loved and cared about and yet, she also fails to see the problems right in front of her. Did she poison the town, or accidentally cast some sort of spell on all of them? These are the questions that we are meant to wonder about after the cocktail party this week.
As we move forward, it does feel like Patricia’s purpose will slightly shift. While she could still be held accountable in some way for what transpired there, she is now off with Tom and Wyck, where there may be a lot they have to wrangle after the death of Reverend Bryce. Can they uncover what truly happened there? Whether there is supernatural occurrences in this town or not, we do think there has to be a way to turn things around.

Speaking to TV Insider, Kate O’Flynn (who plays the character) notes that in one way or another, there is a big role ahead for her moving forward:
Patricia, like we were saying, she’s surprising. Don’t underestimate Patricia because she’s actually someone you want in your corner. She’ll fight to the death for things she believes in and people she believes in and her community, and there’s a bravery to her. She comes into her own later on.
We do think that Patricia may be one of the people who could uncover the mysteries of the town thanks to this determination, but there is still a major concern: She is someone who could be easily susceptible to manipulation, or others making her feel special for the sake of getting what they want. You should be concerned about that moving forward.
