America’s Culinary Cup finale: Who won, Chris, Cara, or Matt?
Tonight CBS brought the America’s Culinary Cup season 1 finale to all of us — and with that, of course one of the closest battles yet.
Heading into the episode, we knew that Cara Stadler, Matt Peters, and Chris Morgan were the only three chefs remaining and of course, we were as stunned as anyone to see the exit of one Buddha Lo. After watching the guy on Top Chef, we really did not think he was capable of being eliminated ever. Because of the various acclaim associated with the final three, we figured the last challenge would be tough. Not only were some of the dishes beautiful, but at the same time we do think we got to know a little bit more about the contestants, as well. Also, we still give kudos to the producers are continuing to allow the chefs to cook as elevated of cuisine as possible.

Yet, in the end of all of this, we know that there could only be one champion. So what did we get? For starters, Matt was sent out in third place, meaning we were left with Chris versus Cara.
Who ended up taking it home?
Think Cara, and what an emotional victory this was! Not only did she turn out to be the best chef on the day, but from a reality TV storytelling perspective, this is pretty darn perfect. It is something that could change everything about her career moving forward, but also her life at present.
Did the first season of the show have plenty of bumps in the road? Absolutely and yet, it is easy to argue that we left things off in what feels like a fairly satisfying spot.
