Chicago Fire season 14 finale: Is Cruz, Stella, Mouch, Herrmann dead?
Of course, we came into the Chicago Fire season 14 finale expecting that there would be some sort of enormous cliffhanger at the end. So, what did we get this time around?
Well, consider the following: So many characters in smoke that it was hard to always see what was happening. Yet, we do recognize that there are several characters in some shape or form who could be in danger, whether it be Stella Kidd, Cruz, Herrmann, or Mouch. This is as big of an “everyone is in limbo” ending that we have had on the series in a rather long time.

So is there anything that we can say with some confidence here? Well, it begins with a note that Miranda Rae Mayo and Taylor Kinney both do seem to be sticking around Chicago Fire for more, so you do not have to worry about them. (Deadline reported recently that they inked some brand-new deals.) As for a lot of the other characters, our concern comes mostly from the fact that a show like this may eventually need to cut costs at some point.
As for everyone else, we do think that the writers are going to keep that under wraps for the foreseeable future. The only thing that we can say is that it is hard to ever imagine a world where Severide is going to be OFI the vast majority of the time, if for no other reason than that you can’t have him separate from the rest of the core characters that much. We tend to think that a lot of the next season could be about him balancing various elements.
The obvious concern
Beyond our fear of budget cuts, Chicago Fire has killed off Otis and Shay in ways similar to what we just saw with the cliffhanger. That all could still happen all over again.
