The Boys season 5 episode 8 spoilers: The series finale…

Next week on Prime Video, you are going to have a chance to see The Boys season 5 episode 8 — in other words, the end of the line. This is the series finale and with that in mind, there’s going to be some emotional and action-packed stuff from start to finish.

Are we going to see characters die? Well, that goes without saying — the question here is who is actually going to survive. A number of the Boys are still out there (though Frenchie is not), and when it comes to the former Seven, you still have the Deep somewhere out there, refusing to save someone’s life. We hope that Annie and Hughie are going to make it but in this world, almost nothing is guaranteed.

Could anyone actually stop Homelander for good? That is really the most important question but a lot of possibilities are now out there. It made sense to say that Marie and Soldier Boy were the only two capable of it entering episode 7, but Frenchie’s final salvo may have opened up at least a few more possibilities.

Let’s just make one thing clear…

Not everyone will like the finale. That is no indictment on its quality; rather, this is just a reminder of how difficult it can be to land a plane on a show like this. The biggest problem The Boys has had throughout this season is consistency and pacing. Episode 7 did feel like a rightful penultimate chapter for the show but before that? Let’s just say that there were understandably some divided opinions.
