NCIS season 23 episode 17 sneak peek: Why is Sam Hanna back?

We have known for a matter of days now that NCIS season 23 episode 17 is going to be notable thanks to the Sam Hanna character. After all, he is back for another guest spot! However, this one is a bit more notable given that it is technically a two-episode arc and eventually, it will work to set the stage for LL Cool J to have a new spin-off set in New York.

So what is bringing Sam to the DC team in this episode? Well, let’s just say that it may be a bit more low-key than anyone would have imagined in advance.

If you head over to the link here, you can see some sneak peeks that indicate some of what you can expect to see coming up here, led of course by the interesting reveal that Sam is not at the DC field office for some serious reason. Rather, he had a layover on his way to Dubai and he just wanted a nap! However, things are going to get interesting as he ends up being roped into an entirely different case altogether. He will have some fun moments with the whole team, especially with Kasie.

One other thing that is mentioned in the sneak peeks here is that there is a brief NCIS: Hawaii reference thrown in here — Sam was a part of that show for season 3, and we know that there were some crossovers at the same time. (Yes, we are still bitter that it did not end up sticking around longer, given that it did have even more potential than what it was able to show.)
