‘The Vampire Diaries’ season 5: Ian Somerhalder’s set confirmation

Over the weekend, we were one of the first outlets to tell you about Ian Somerhalder arriving back in the city of Atlanta; and now, we are pleased to say that there is at least going to be something going on at the set of his hit show “The Vampire Diaries.”

This great news was confirmed in a post on Twitter by the actor himself, who announced that after spending a full two and a half months traveling and working all around the world (no joke), he is excited to get back to playing a part that allows him to have so many other opportunities:

“Jet lag-its real. Fought the good fight but now succumbing To it-off to Vampire Diaries set tomorrow. Goodnight beautiful world…”

These next few months are going to be extremely busy for Ian and everyone else within the “Vampire Diaries” world. The actors will be back to work filming new episodes, and there will be some traveling here and there in between the Teen Choice Awards and Comic-Con later this month in San Diego. Ian also has his foundation and various environmental causes to handle, while of course still being forced to deal with a near-constant stream of questions regarding his relationship with Nina Dobrev and that “50 Shades of Grey” movie, which we really doubt he’ll be appearing in since we just don’t know when he would even have the time to film it at this point.
