Shrinking season 3 episode 11: An important finale tease

In a handful of days the Shrinking season 3 finale is poised to arrive on Apple TV and of course, we are happy to have more information! In particular, we mean this through the lens of answering one key question: How much of this could feel like a series finale?
After all, it is worth noting that the comedy was originally pitched to be a three-season arc with a beginning, middle, and end. Ever since it was renewed for a season 4, we’ve of course had questions as to what the next season would be about — or if the end of season 3 was going to be changed from the initial plan.

Well, based on what we are hearing now, that may not be the case. In a new post on Twitter, here is at least some of what executive producer Bill Lawrence had to say:
Season finale and end of this three season story next week. Hope you dig it.
(Excited to start completely new story next year. Feels scary/risky/fun)
Will that story be a larger arc, as well? That remains to be seen, but the fact that they are doing it alone signals that the cast and crew clearly enjoy working on this show. The mystery here is simply who will continue to be a part of the show. If Alice and Paul each go off to the next part of their lives, how would they then be back? You can argue that Alice is just back on a break from college, but Harrison Ford’s character? In the end, we’re just putting most of our trust in Lawrence, alongside fellow EPs Jason Segel and Brett Goldstein, to find a way to properly pull this off.
