The Madison season 3 renewal more likely thanks to streaming numbers

While only the first season of The Madison has streamed so far on Paramount+, there are more reasons for everyone to look ahead.
After all, this is where we come in to discuss some of the latest numbers, which we tend to think the company are very pleased with at this point. According to a report from Variety, the Michelle Pfeiffer led show managed to hit eight million viewers across its first ten days, making it the biggest launch so far for a Taylor Sheridan creation. Now, it can be hard to define what “viewers” are in a streaming sense, but the big takeaway here is really not that complicated: The show is popular. By virtue of that alone, there is a chance that we are going to be getting more at some other point down the road.

We will be the first to admit that we did have major hesitations coming into The Madison, largely based on its atypical rollout. Almost no show on the air these days premieres on a Saturday, and Paramount+ also rarely opts for a binge-like model. In this case, there were six episodes made available across just only two weeks. In between the promotion, the star power, and maybe even the schedule, it all has come up roses for the show and with that, we do have more questions now regarding the future.
For now, a season 2 has already been filmed and from where we stand, it would not come as a shock if it launches early next year. We also could envision a scenario where season 3 is greenlit and starts filming later this year, just to give the series optionality and allow Paramount to be far ahead of the game.
