Shrinking season 3 episode 9 spoilers: More on Jimmy’s father

As we get prepared to see Shrinking season 3 episode 9 arrive over on Apple TV, should you brace for a certain amount of chaos? Well, in a word, yes. This is often ingrained within the fabric of the series and with that in mind, we can’t be shocked with it now.

Yet, at the same time, the sort of chaos that we get is ever-changing! Earlier this season we saw the debut of Jeff Daniels as Jimmy’s dad, someone who he clearly has a history of some conflict with. As we move forward, let’s just say that a lot of that conflict is now going to continue — and yes, it could lead to further issues.

Do we think that Jimmy and his dad can have some deeper conversations, and try to get on the same page? Sure, but we have also seen enough of this show over time to know that nothing is guaranteed. There are almost certainly going to be more issues as move forward and through that, our general sentiment is just to be prepared.

As for everyone else, we are still eager to see what the “something new” looks like for Gaby. After all, she is still in the process of figuring out where she wants her life to go — and obviously, the events of the past couple of episodes have thrown her for a loop. (Wouldn’t they almost anyone in this sort of position? We tend to think so, and it could take time to deal with the aftermath.)
