If you have been hoping to get some sort of further update from Starz and/or Sky regarding the future of Sweetpea season 2, we are pleased to offer it today!

After all, a new story over at The Hollywood Reporter officially confirms that the murderous series, which stars and is executive-produced by Ella Purnell, is going to be coming at some point this year. Given that production has been done for a little while already, we are hoping for something in the summer or early fall. We imagine that more details regarding that are going to surface over the months to come.

Now as for what the story could be moving forward, the synopsis below does a good job of setting the stage:

“Navigating a new promotion, an irresistible rebound, and a copycat killer threatening to expose her, the kill list is mounting … And Rhiannon is forced to question whether her perfect ex, AJ, was right: Is she a monster?”

given that Rhiannon is someone who has literally murdered people, our real question here is how she will try and self-rationalize her actions. Her actions at the end of the season 1 finale serve as a reminder that her MO has already changed, and while she may be moving up the ranks at her job, is someone going to start questioning further all the recent deaths? Rhiannon has also acted impulsively in the past, which makes it all the more possible that she could get found out. This is not Dexter Morgan at the moment; she is someone still figuring out how to navigate her murderous life on the fly. On some level, we do think that this is where a lot of the compelling drama here comes from.
