Virgin River season 8: Will it be the final season?

Heading into Virgin River season 8, we of course feel like there are inevitably going to be a ton of different conversations worth having. What is the biggest one? Well, that may be very much about the end — or rather, whether we are getting close to it.
Given that most Netflix seasons end a good bit before their eighth season, we would not blame anyone for thinking that the sunset is coming before too long. Yet, at the same exact time, that doesn’t mean the producers are thinking that way.

As a matter of fact, current showrunner Patrick Sean Smith recently told Deadline that there are no plans at present for season 8 to be the end of the road for Virgin River and with that in mind, we are still holding out hope for the future!
In speaking further to the publication, Smith also noted what some of the general themes are going to end up being for the next chapter:
We’re looking at the concept of feeling haunted by something, sacrifice, and, of course, rebirth as Jack is getting the farm up and running, and the natural cycle of things.
Of course, the idea of rebirth is also important given the fact that there are some significant character exits moving forward, and that is without even looking at the question as to whether or not we are going to see Brady survive. (For now, we remain hopeful, but survival does not necessarily mean that everything is going to be exactly as it once was.)
In general, we would advise everyone out there to keep their eyes peeled for some sort of further news on the stories ahead over the next few months. There’s no reason for Netflix to hold onto this forever.
