House of the Dragon season 3 premiere date: Worst-case scenario

As we get further and further into the spring, we do take comfort in the fact that House of the Dragon season 3 is coming on the horizon. HBO has already confirmed a June launch date, and we do not think that they would do that unless they were 100% comfortable in making it happen. That gives a lot of the producers a good bit of time to finish post-production and whatever else they need before allowing the next chapter to come on the air.

So what is the absolute latest that you could actually see the Game of Thrones prequel come out? As someone who likes to examine all possibilities, this is at least something worthy of at least some discussion here.

First and foremost, we should note that there is at least a small chance that season 3 is going to be coming as early as June 7, but that would be dependent on how HBO schedules out the upcoming third season of Euphoria / if they want it to air on Memorial Day Weekend. We tend to think that the 14th feels like a realistic start date for House of the Dragon, with the 28th being the inevitable worst-case scenario. The network will almost certainly not shift the show off of Sundays.

Speaking of Euphoria, do not be surprised if all of this is settled by the time the Zendaya – Sydney Sweeney drama comes on the air. It only makes sense, after all, for HBO to use one of its high-profile series in order to promote the other to the best of their ability.
