Marshals season 1 episode 3 spoilers: Will Kayce ever date again?
If you have been immersed in Marshals over the past couple of weeks on CBS, you are likely in your feelings about one thing in particular: The loss of Monica. How can you not? That was a critical relationship on the original show with Kayce and in that way, it is strange to not have it around now.
So when it comes to the idea of Kayce moving on to someone else, we really just have to quote Breaking Bad to the entire writing staff: Tread likely. We can’t imagine there being many fans of the original Yellowstone who want to imagine something like that happening anytime soon.

Luckily, it does appear that Luke Grimes agrees with that assessment. Speaking to Entertainment Weekly, he indicated that nobody is going to be pushing his character into a romantic story arc:
“I just felt like if we went there too quickly, it would feel like we were doing it to have a storyline … It would feel very obligatory and, like, that’s the thing you have to do with your number one. Not in this case. Not when you’ve seen a guy for years and years and years be so madly in love with someone. It would almost feel like, ‘Was that all bulls–t?’ If it ever happens, it should happen really organically and over time.”
To us, this feels like something that could be entertained in a season 2 or season 3 if the writers want to be realistic here. A good comparison would be Shrinking, where we spent years seeing Jason Segel’s character get over his late wife. He did make a lot of mistakes along the way, but he has finally gotten to a spot in season 3 where he wants to pursue some of his own happiness.
