Dexter: Resurrection season 2 premiere date: A March 2026 update
After an insanely successful season 1 over on Showtime, it is easy to be passionately excited about a Dexter: Resurrection season 2. Now, is there a chance that we are going to hear something more here in the relatively near future?
Well, let’s start things off here by noting simply that the creative team has been at work for a while to envision what the next chapter of Dexter Morgan’s story could look like. Also, there are a number of ways it could go! Think back to the end of last season, where we saw the demise of Leon Prater but then also many files surfacing of other killers — including that of the New York Ripper. Odds are the story moves forward, but there are also still echoes of the past. Sooner rather than later, won’t people begin asking more questions about Angel Batista?

Well, the bad news here is that if you were hoping for some sort of big-time update regarding a season 2 premiere date this month, you are bound to be disappointing. Filming will be kicking off soon, but we are not at that point yet. We’ve heard in the past that fall (or, to be specific, October) is the plan for when the next season will come back, but we have to wait for an official announcement before we can be overly confident.
When could that announcement come?
We tend to think that come summer, Showtime may be more invested in sharing more regarding the future of the Michael C. Hall show. Remember that with the first season as good as it was, we hardly imagine that they are going to just sit back or rest on their laurels.
