‘Downton Abbey’ season 4 spoilers: Michelle Dockery, Allen Leech, and a party

“Downton Abbey” to us really would not be “Downton Abbey” without some of the characters making some sort of elaborate showcase of their wealth, and with that in mind, it is hard to be particularly surprised about the fact that there is at least one major party scene coming up on the upcoming fourth season.

Based on some reports (which you can see over at Just Jared or Downton Abbey Addicts), the likes of Allen Leech, Maggie Smith, Michelle Dockery, and some other stars of the show were seen filming some sort of elaborate festival, hopefully in line with some of the lavish parties that we saw throughout much of season 3. Leech’s Tom Branson was present with his daughter Sybil, which is as much evidence as ever that we are going to see this young child make her presence felt both early and often throughout the season.

When it comes to new characters, there are still only a select few that have been presently sighted. One of the major mysteries at the moment is what Tom Cullen’s Lord Anthony Gillingham is going to look and sound like, and there are certainly many curious people out there thanks in part to the role that this character could have in Mary’s life moving forward. One new-ish person we have heard and seen a little bit more about is Lily James’ new series regular of Lady Rose, who will be involved in quite a few stories this year as she brings a touch of her “wild child” personality to the Downton residence in England.
