Fallout season 3 premiere date: Is 2027 a sure thing?

Given the way that Fallout season 2 concluded on Prime Video, can you really blame anyone very-much invested in season 3 at this point? The Ghoul has a pretty specific mission now that will take him off to Colorado. Meanwhile, we are about to see some fairly-exciting stuff from Lucy and Maximus as they work to head off on their own separate journey.
We are of course expecting plenty of surprises, just as also are preparing for filming to start over the course of the next several months. Now, this is where we will also go ahead and raise the following question: Is it a sure thing that we head back to the Wasteland in 2027?

When you think about the rather-large number of shows that take forever to come back, it makes sense to be concerned. Heck, even Prime Video has some like this including The Boys and Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power. The good news here, though, is that the powers-that-be really seem to be invested in delivering more Fallout as early as they realistically can. A lot of that seems tied to the show getting early renewals, and also being able to start production a fairly short time after the most-recent season airs. Look at Severance, which premiered season 2 back in January of 2025 — it still has not started filming on its third season! This show isn’t like that.
From all accounts, it does seem like the Amazon-owned streaming service is committed to bringing Fallout back in 2027. This is of course subject to change for a number of different reasons but from where we sit, it does feel reasonable to have a steady amount of belief in this.
What are you most hoping to see at this point heading into Fallout season 3?
When do you believe it is going to air? Be sure to share right now in the attached comments! Once you do just that, remember to come back — there are a lot of other updates on the way.
