The Nowhere Man season 2: Is it renewed, canceled at Starz?

Following the end of the season 1 finale at Starz, is The Nowhere Man season 2 going to happen? Or, have we reached the end of the line here?

The first thing that we really should state here is ultimately that this is one of those shows that has a more complicated fate than others at the network. This is an acquired South African series rather than one that was created and produced domestically, meaning that there would be a number of companies involved in the decision to make more. Nothing has been announced at present, and we tend to think that it would come down significantly to both overall performance and if there is any further story to tell. (We do think that Starz’s interest was in part tied to Naturi Naughton-Lewis, who a lot of people may know from the Power franchise.)

If you have not heard too much about The Nowhere Man as of yet, we do think that the synopsis below does help:

Lukas, a former Special Forces mercenary crippled by PTSD, has turned his back on his violent past and is operating as a waste picker on the streets of Johannesburg, South Africa. When he witnesses a home invasion, and intervenes, he is thrust back into the world he’s spent years trying to escape. His fight for survival will bring him face-to-face with his demons and the dark secrets of his old life.

Ultimately, we would just to be patient over the next few months to see if anything else comes out — and if not, it’s certainly easy to be grateful that the series found its way stateside at all. It has become easier in the streaming era for this to happen with international shows, but we are still well-aware of the fact that there are a number of gems that don’t end up seeing the light of day for a multitude of different reasons.
