Paradise season 2 premiere spoilers: EP on bigger scope

In just a matter of days the first few episodes of Paradise season 2 are poised to arrive over on Hulu, and are you ready to get back into this world again?

There is certainly at this point a lot to be excited about just on the basis of how the first season ended. Xavier (Sterling K. Brown) is now out in the world, doing whatever he can in order to find his wife. Will anything turn out quite like he expected? For the time being, our sentiment is no — mostly because this is a show that loves its twist. We’ve got some prominent new characters including one played by Shailene Woodley, and we imagine that plenty more questions (and answers) are on the way.

One of the things that has personally made us so excited for the series moving forward is simply the fact that there has been a plan here from the start as to how the story would go — meaning that we’ve never had to think that the producers are making it up as they go. Speaking to The Wrap recently, creator Dan Fogelman indicated that they build season 1 knowing that there would be an even bigger scope this go-around:

“We’ve had this planned for a while, when I first pitched the show to Sterling, I was like, ‘The second season if going to be different and it’s going to get bigger and bigger and bigger’ … It’s been exciting to figure out how to execute it … The challenges of production were really interesting and exciting to attack because it’s a completely different show in the second season.”

If there is one thing that we personally lament, it is that these seasons are so short and season 3 could end up being the final one — this is a world we’d love to live in a while longer, even if there is danger.
