Will Trent season 5 renewal: Is it a sure thing at ABC?

If you are hoping that a Will Trent season 5 is going to happen at ABC down the road, there are so many reasons for optimism! Based on all of the news we are hearing about regarding the show, it is almost impossible to fathom a universe where the mystery / drama does not return.

Want to get a little bit more into it now? Well, according to a new report from Deadline, the future of the show is widely regarded as a sure thing as it continues to be incredibly popular for the network on all fronts. Not only does this include live + same-day viewing, but then also people who end up streaming it after the fact on Hulu. These two measurements work in tandem, and certainly make us all the more hopeful that we will eventually get the cast and crew back. This is honestly one of those shows that could go on for several more years in the event that the audience continues to show up; we certainly think that the story is going to remain here.

So if the renewal is almost a sure thing, when could we get more in the way of official news? Obviously it would be great if that were to happen almost immediately, but our feeling at present is that if we are lucky, it will come out at some point before the end of April. We do think there is a lot of value in hearing about the future of Will Trent before we get to the home stretch of the season. That way, there are no distractions.

The one thing that probably will hurt is having to wait for a while to see the series return? We do not see many scenarios in which this is anything but a midseason series. After all, it performs well in this spot!
