Dexter: Resurrection season 2 premiere date: Best-case scenario

As of this writing, we recognize that we are months away from Dexter: Resurrection season 2 even starting off production — and you better believe that is frustrating! We would love nothing more than to dive into Dexter Morgan’s crazy world again sooner rather than later, especially given the way season 1 concluded. There are more killers in New York for Dexter to go after, and that is without even mentioning the New York Ripper — who now has a name!

Given that we love this show and are the impatient type, why not take a moment to discuss the best-case scenario for the series? Is there a way that we could actually get it back before a horribly long period of time?

Well, what is nice here is that we already have a fairly approximate timeframe laid out for the series already, one where you are going to see production start this spring and the premiere on Showtime this fall. Given that the cast and crew will need at least some time to get the story ahead fully in the can our general feeling is that if the stars align perfectly, we get a chance to get it back in late September / early October. Meanwhile, the worst-case scenario is a month or two later. This is a fairly small amount of wiggle room and in the end, we do appreciate that.

So what is Showtime / the production team working on right now?

We like to think that they are knee-deep in the casting process and with that, can we cross our fingers and hope that there will be some other fantastic performers coming on board? It’s great to have big names, but they have to be the right ones. This is why Peter Dinklage and Uma Thurman were both so special.
