Mr. & Mrs. Smith season 2 premiere date: February 2026 update

Is there a chance that we are going to hear more about Mr. & Mrs. Smith season 2 between now and the end of February? Well, at this point it would be hard to blame anyone wanting more of the series as soon as humanly possible!

Unfortunately, this is where we do have to come in here with the rather unfortunate reminder that television these days takes time, and that is perhaps even more so considering the long and winding road this one has taken to get to where it is right now. Just last month, there were reports that a new showrunner had been appointed to the series; we know that there were leads previously cast for the next season, but we want to wait until filming starts now to ensure they are still in the roles. This is effectively how much things have changed within the past twelve months.

Unfortunately, a lot of this is a pretty elaborate way for us to step in here and say that we will probably not have more news on Mr. & Mrs. Smith season 2 in the relatively near future, even if it would be nice if more updates started to slowly trickle out.

As for what the story for season 2 will be…

We still don’t want to read too much into the cliffhanger at the end of season 1 and what it means for the future — mostly because there is a new showrunner and things could change. The story will likely have an action focus still but beyond just that, lean into a lot of the main characters and their interactions. It would also hardly come as a surprise if there are a number of big-name celebrity guest stars, much like we had in season 1.
