The Last of Us season 3 premiere date: A February 2026 update

Is there any chance that we are going to hear more on The Last of Us season 3 between now and the end of February? It has been rather nice to see more news on the HBO series coming out as of late. The role of Manny has already been recast, and we know that production is slated to transpire over the course of this year.

Of course, amidst all of the clarity we do have around the show’s future there are still elements of confusion. Take, for example, the questions surrounding whether or not season 3 will be the show’s last. We have already heard mixed results when it comes to that.

For the time being, here is a little bit of what we can say –there is a chance that we get more news regarding casting or filming locations in the weeks ahead. However, the odds of an exact premiere-date reveal are as close to 0% as they could ever be. We tend to think that we would be shocked in the event that there is any news at all on a return until close to the end of the year. It takes a long time for a show like this to film, and that is without even mentioning all the post-production that is required to perfect it behind the scenes.

When in 2027 do we then expect it?

If we had to project something, we would say somewhere between the spring and summer. There are a number of other releases on HBO that we also have to account for at this point, whether it be True Detective or more A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms, which is already filming its second season.
