9-1-1 season 9 episode 10: Did Abigail kidnap Christopher?

We had a feeling that 9-1-1 season 9 episode 10 was going to end with some sort of cliffhanger — after all, it was the last one before a hiatus! The big question to us was really what sort of cliffhanger it would actually be.

As it turns out, it proved to be a parent’s worst nightmare for Eddie, as in the closing minutes teenage Abigail managed to kidnap Christopher, who never even got on the bus. His whereabouts are clearly going to be a huge component to the next episode, as well be trying to understand Abigail’s motives.

What it appears to be at the moment is that Abigail is having some jealousy towards Alex, and really this whole situation with Christopher is a way to garner attention. She is an unhoused 18-year old who cannot be a part of a foster program, and also someone Eddie struggles to find some sort of real solution for. It’s a complicated situation where there are a lot of different variables. The only thing that does feel clear is that this is clearly not the answer and things could get dangerous and fast.

Of course, there is a part of us wondering if Eddie has already gone through enough. Why do something like this to Christopher? It really just feels like this episode is speaking to issues that can happen in communities that need more mental-health resources and also ways to find stability after young people turn 18. Eddie just finds himself at the center of everything — yet, it does at least feel like he is going to have plenty of support from the 118 at each and every turn.
