Boston Blue season 1 episode 10 spoilers: Is Jack Reagan coming?

As many of you may be aware at this point, we are going to be seeing Boston Blue season 1 episode 10 arrive come late February — and yes, we would love to know more about what lies ahead far in advance.

So what are the odds of that actually happening in the next few days? Much to our personal chagrin, it is fairly low just because we are still so far removed from it. Yet, at the same time, there is at least room to speculate on a few things now, and that includes the chances that we are going to be seeing Danny Reagan’s son Jack at some point.

Is there evidence of this? Absolutely, with the biggest argument for it being the simple fact that there are going to be more Reagans who turn up on Boston Blue this season. However, there’s also a major case against it, as well: What the show’s own producers are saying.

Speaking to TVLine last month, co-showrunner Brandon Sonnier noted that there is a reason for Jack’s absence:

We really try to keep track of where the rest of the family is within the “Blue Bloods” universe, because we are an expansion of that world. It’s a big deal that Jack is overseas and that he’s in medical school.

We never want to lose sight of the fact that Danny has two sons. Part of placing Jack so far away was logistical — it gives Danny the space to fully focus on Sean right now, because there’s not a lot he can do for Jack. Jack’s doing fine. He’s thriving. This family has a duty to serve, a calling to service, and this felt like a way for Jack to follow that calling — while being far enough away, for now, to serve the story we’re telling.

Given the late Linda Reagan’s career in medicine, you can also argue that this makes sense for him to try and follow in her footsteps to some degree. We still would like to see him at some point, but it does not feel like this is a story that will be rushed.
