If there is any one thing that we can say entering The Pitt season 2 episode 2, it is simply this: A lot more carnage is coming in the hospital. It may start with the mysterious baby, but move into a lot of other subjects. There is tension between Robby and Dr. Langdon; at the same time, Noah Wyle’s character has to deal with Dr. Al-Hashimi, someone who has come in to take over his position while he is on sabbatical. Let’s just say that she has a way of doing things that may not make him happy.

So are we going to see payoff to a lot of these stories right away? Probably not. Instead, our general feeling here is that it is going to be more of a slow build to get us from point A to point B.

Speaking to The Hollywood Reporter, Wyle himself made it clear how this season is going to be structured:

“I think, in a perfect world, if we’ve done it appropriately, we spend the first half of the season with everybody coming in and projecting exactly what they want to project. They are presenting themselves as the people that they want to be perceived as being … And then, if we’re successful, the second half of the season takes everything that we’ve just described as positive or at face value and deconstructs it in a way that looks at it through a little bit more of a intense lens and sees it more as the pathology that really is.”

We saw a great blueprint of a lot of this in season 1, where the events of Pitt-fest ended up sending Robby and several other characters into a tailspin. The crises are going to be different, but the end result could hit you in the feels in a relatively similar way.
