Slow Horses season 6 premiere date: A January 2026 update

Is there a chance that we are going to be hearing more about Slow Horses season 6 between now and the end of January? Of course, it would be great to have more insight and sooner rather than later. Just remember that filming for the sixth season has been done for some time, and we even had an opportunity to see some footage of it back at the end of the season 5 finale.

Unfortunately, and as many of you are probably aware at this point, this does not directly correlate to us getting more footage soon, or the Gary Oldman drama premiering in the next few months.

As much as we may hate to admit it (and we do), it does not feel like the plan has changed much at all to air a new season of Slow Horses on an annual basis. With that being said, “annual” here also means every awards-show cycle. There is no incentive to air season 6 before June, as there is already a season eligible for the 2026 Emmys. This also gives Apple TV some extremely stable programming, which is something that we know they very-much cherish at this point.

As for how long this show will end up staying around…

Well, we know that there is at least a season 7 on the way! Not only has that already been renewed, but production for it started not too long ago. You may have to wait until 2027 to see that, but we don’t mind having a lot of great stuff to anticipate. In general, we tend to think that it makes the future of the series overall all the more exciting. (For the record, there are currently nine novels in the Mick Herron series on which the show is based.)
