Dexter: Resurrection season 2 premiere date: A winter reveal?

Is there a chance that we are going to get a Dexter: Resurrection season 2 premiere date reveal at some point this winter? Of course, it is a cool thing to think about and hope for … but it actually happening is something totally different.
After all, it is important to remember the following first and foremost: The Showtime drama has yet to start filming. As a matter of fact, it feels like that is not something that is going to start until the spring. Michael C. Hall has another project in the meantime, but the good thing here is that the show does have a relatively short turnaround time. A lot of work can be done to get some of these stories good to go before too long.

Now that we’ve said all of that … there is still almost no chance of a premiere-date reveal in the winter, with the simplest reason being that it is far too soon. All estimates at this point have Dexter: Resurrection coming back in the fall, and that means to us that an exact date is going to be revealed during the summer. That’s something to at least mark on your calendar (in pencil) to get excited about.
What we know about season 2
Very little is confirmed, but showrunner Clyde Phillips clearly left some loose ends after the first season. Rapunzel (Eric Stonestreet) is still out there, and there is still a chance that Lady Vengeance is not actually dead. Meanwhile, Dexter has left behind the file for the New York Ripper for Claudette Wallace, and he has information on a few other killers after doing away with Leon Prater. The story possibilities now feel reasonably endless.
