Tulsa King season 4 filming begins with one major twist

As you get prepared to see the Tulsa King season 3 finale on Paramount+ this weekend, go ahead and note that season 4 is already in the works!

With that being said, though, let’s just say that things are a little bit complicated. According to a new report coming in from Variety, the Sylvester Stallone series is in the works at Atlanta; however, there is not a traditional showrunner in place, a rarity for a high-level show of this nature. Dave Erickson, who also does Mayor of Kingstown, took on the role in season 3; however, he is not returning amidst claims of creative differences between he and Stallone.

So how are things working with this show behind the scenes? Well, Terence Winter is back with the series after being a part of the first two seasons. He is credited as the head writer and executive producer, but will be based out of Los Angeles and may not be heavily involved with production matters in Atlanta. Scott Stone, an executive in charge of production from 101 Studios, appears to be the one handling much of that responsibility.

Will this atypical arrangement work? We never want to be one to pass extreme judgment until we see the end result but at the same time, it is hard to blame anyone who has a healthy amount of trepidation at this point. All things considered, why would you? Creative changes can alter a show significantly, even one that has a landmark star front and center. Then again, that amount of stability with Stallone and some other cast members may still be enough here to carry the day.
