Pluribus season 1 spoilers: What is Zosia’s backstory?
There are a number of different things we imagine we are going to learn about Zosia on Pluribus, but are the answers going to be coming up quickly? Well, that we doubt — at least for the time being.
What we can at least say about this character right now is fairly simple. She is someone who is a part of the Joined collective, seemingly incapable of her own thought. However, she is still special. She flew all the way to Albuquerque from another part of the world to speak to Carol, likely recognizing that her resemblance to a character imagined from her story would be rather useful. She also did hesitate when asked if she could choose between Koumba and Carol at the end of episode 2.

So are we going to be learning more about Zosia before too long? Let’s just say that it is possible, but her backstory was not something discussed immediately for the part. Speaking to The Hollywood Reporter, here is what Karolina Wydra (who plays the character) had to say:
To be honest with you, I didn’t ask Vince who she was, and we didn’t talk about it. I didn’t want it to color my performance because she is not who she was. We, as humans, come with a lot of history, and while that history can be positive or negative, that’s not who she is today. She’s not experiencing her past; she’s experiencing today. So my focus was only on who she is today, and that’s what’s fascinating about the beginning of episode two. So her past is very questionable.
We do imagine that there could eventually be more nuggets, but creator Vince Gilligan likely sees no real reason to rush things along. After all, the series has already been renewed for a season 2, and it could go on far beyond that.
