‘Dexter’ season 8 spoilers: A toast … but to what?
Remember when we posted that Angel Batista was going to remain a full-time cop on “Dexter” season 8, and that he was actually going to be promoted to Lieutenant in the wake of Deb’s resignation from the force? This may all be true, but it also does not look like David Zayas’ character has completely given up when it comes to owning a restaurant, either.
As the photo attached here (via Dexter Daily) from the show’s July 7 episode “Every Silver Lining” shows, there is plenty of evidence that Batista is still going to find a way to keep running his establishment even while back on the force. One theory? He’s returning to work with a new sense of purpose after LaGuerta’s death, but he wants to keep his options open in the future. He may still have dreams of retirement, and after spending many years getting shot at and arresting bad guys, listening to someone complaining about their mojito may not be too much of a big deal at all.
For Batista in general, we really hope that the endgame is something that does bring him happiness. While he definitely has his fair share of flaws, people like him and Masuka (perverted as he may be) are the closest things this show has to full-on good guys, as they try to fight for justice without sneaking promotions for themselves or bagging money at the crime scene.
What do you think about this image, and how excited are you getting now for the new season of “Dexter” to begin? We want to hear some more of your thoughts below!
