‘Doctor Who’ season 8: ‘The Following’s’ Kevin Bacon has fun with 12th Doctor rumors

Let’s start this “Doctor Who” article with the following: Kevin Bacon was never considered for the part of Matt Smith’s replacement or the 12th Doctor, but he’s really had some fun with it. The “rumor” (if you can even call it that) regarding the actor taking on the iconic role first began courtesy of him supposedly telling people on the street that he was in the United Kingdom and he was cast as the new star of the show. Obviously, this was meant as a joke … and any real fan would have seen through it anyway, given that the show is filmed in Cardiff and not here.

So just in case you needed some extra reason to not believe the validity of this story at all, here you go: A new post from Bacon himself on his Twitter page having a little bit of fun with the rumor:

“Love the story that I’m claiming to be the new Dr. Who. Had to ask some Londoners who Who is #DrWho”

So if everyone is six degrees from Kevin Bacon … does this mean that we would only by seven degrees from the TARDIS? Just curious, and we would go through all seven of these degrees in order to find it.
