‘The Vampire Diaries’ season 5 spoilers: Paul Wesley’s Stefan, possible flashbacks
Are we through with the flashbacks on “The Vampire Diaries”? If you watch this show with any sort of regularity, odds are you probably know the answer to that already: This show revels in getting the opportunity to gaze back into what has happened in the past with these characters, and there’s also a few important faces that only exist within that world.
Take, for example, Lexi. This is a woman that helped Stefan when he most needed it, and we also learned last season that she had a rather interesting relationship with Damon for a time. So have we seen the last of her? It sure doesn’t sound like it, based on what Arielle Kebbel (who also hosts some web shows for The CW) said in an interview recently with Zap2It:
“It’s important for me to let the fans know that they have truly helped to keep Lexi alive … I love the character deeply, and [executive producer] Julie Plec loves the character, and we are doing the best we can to continue keeping her alive. The exciting thing about Lexi is that you never know when she’s going to pop up … but she absolutely can. And most likely will. We’ve had some talk [about Lexi possibly appearing on the upcoming spinoff ‘The Originals’], but that’s uncharted territory, so they’re still figuring out how they want to handle that.”
While Kebbel has spent the majority of her time working with Paul Wesley, this could always change, especially since he in particular is going to be rather busy this coming year tackling both Stefan as well as his doppelganger Silas. The two characters will play a key part throughout season 5, which will hopefully be a little less scatterbrained than season 4 now that the cast has slimmed down somewhat.
What’s your take on this: Is more of Lexi a good thing? If you want to check out some more news about Candice Accola getting a chance to shine on another CW show, all you have to do is click here.
