‘American Idol’ notes: Adam Lambert at Pride, DeAndre Brackensick, Jennifer Lopez
For those of you who want news about both “American Idol” and some of its stars, you are definitely at the right place. This edition of the notes has a little bit of everything, beginning with where you can see Adam Lambert tonight in Pittsburgh.
The former season 8 star is going to be literally rocking out in the streets of Pittsburgh tonight, for the city’s “Pride in the Streets” event. We’re hearing that his show begins around 9:00 p.m. Eastern, but there are going to be some acts both before and after him throughout the evening. Events actually start at around 6:00 p.m. tonight, so if you’re in the area and want to have a good time, you’re probably going to have one there.
You can see a video of a sound-check that happened at the event today below (source), and we’ll be back in the morning with more highlights from the event.
DeAndre Brackensick’s new video – While we don’t have a video to post at Cartermatt for this, we thought you’d be pleased to find out about DeAndre Brackensick’s visual re-creation of “Her Crazy.” You can view it over at the link here, and we want to know what you think about it!
Jennifer Lopez speaks out – With this, can we finally put the idea of J.Lo being back as a judge for another season to rest? The singer told E! News that thanks in part to her work schedule filling up, she will probably not be back for more on the show. Of course, the feeling may be mutual as the show recently hired a new executive producer in Per Blankens, and we believe that he is going to move in a different direction that re-hire anyone from the Nigel Lythgoe era.
If you want to hear what Steven Tyler had to say recently about being “gentle” during his time on the show, all you have to do is head over to the link here.

As a Pittsburgher, I can say that Adam and all the Glamberts coming here made an awesome weekend. I had a party where Glamberts could meet and we raised some money for the Trevor Project. We enjoyed each others company at the concert and we rocked together. I no sooner got home than I found out QUEENBERT may happen again. I’m on a cloud that I have no intention of coming down from.

Adam Lambert would be THE most brilliant choice of all! For oh soooo many great reasons! It would be a definite improvement over ANY decision since the Simon Cowell era.

Absolutely Steve France….bring on Adam Lambert a prior contestant. He may bring in some international viewers (I hope that counts). Change some of the processes…maybe bring in a weekly mentor in a certain category and have that mentor judge with the three member panel. Don’t let people vote more than a dozen times and maybe let the judges’ votes count. There so much they could do. The ratings are lower but it’s still a highly watched show. I’d watch again if Adam were on it.

It seemed like when Nigel was still on idol up until a few weeks ago he was pushing for J Lo, Keith Urban and Harry Connick Jr as the judging panel for next season. That sure ties in with up until very recently J Lo was saying she could still join Idol, you never know etc. Now that Nigel got the axe she stopped talking like that and is saying her work scheduled won;t allow her to do Idol next season. Sure Jennifer, truth be told your one supporter, Nigel, is gone now so you won’t be able to demand your 18 million plus to do Idol. We all know Nigel would have paid that ridiculous amount to have her back. Thank god I won’;t be hearing ” I have goosies” as a critique for someone who needs proper feedback from a judge.
I am ecstatic that Nigel is gone and that J Lo isn’t likely to come back to Idol.
Bring on former contestants like Adam Lambert. That is an original idea that no other singing show can do as they don’t have the large successful talent pool that Idol has accumulated over the last 12 years. Idol needs an original idea to stand out among The Voice and The X Factor which is Idol’s competition. Sign up Adam Lambert American Idol.
