‘Hell’s Kitchen’ review: Black jackets are almost here … but are there any men left?
Gordon Ramsay can be a tricky guy sometimes. While we have seen the famed chef in the past choose to hand out his black jackets on “Hell’s Kitchen” to the final six, he didn’t do that this time around. Instead, he decided to wait not just one week, but potentially two to hand them out. That’s right: There were no jackets this week, either.
So will there be any men still around to take one? For the first time it was looking like it wouldn’t happen, given just how inept this group has been at times. There are some strong cooks over there, but they have never been able to work together … at least until Ja’Nel arrived. Who knew that she would be the secret glue to hold the whole group together? We certainly had no idea, but with her on the team, the Blue Team won its first challenge in weeks and had a reward.
Unfortunately, this did not keep the inevitable from happening later on in the night which was Zach getting sent home. It’s strange that early on it felt like he was a real threat to win the whole competition, but as of late the editing has completely beaten him to a pulp and make him look a little out there.
Now, Jon is the only guy left with a chance at getting the black jacket, and he has to go through at least one strong female chef to make it happen. We think that he could benefit from some major underdog status right now, but he also still has to cook like his world depends on it if he wants to have a shot.
