‘Doctor Who’ season 8 spoilers: Domhnall Gleeson, Miranda Hart dispute casting claims
This is going to sound very familiar to most of you right now since there are now more actors arguing against claims that they could be cast to be the 12th Doctor on “Doctor Who” season 8. It is a job that plenty of people out there interested in, but at the same time this is also a job that most people are afraid of speaking out on publicly in fear that if they do it will jeopardize their chances of actually getting cast in the role.
So let’s start things off here with some words from Domhnall Gleeson, who was once rumored to be on a short list of three people trying to secure a spot. Speaking to Irish station RTE, the former “Harry Potter” actor had the following to say in order to dismiss the claims:
“There’s nothing to [it]. I heard about it from my agent [who] sent me a website, [and was] laughing about the fact that people were saying that I was being talked about. I was like, ‘That’s lovely: my own agent is laughing at the idea!’.
“So, it’s not true and there’s nothing you can do about people just spouting a whole load of ***** on the Internet!
Meanwhile, comedienne Miranda Hart, who recently topped a poll by readers asking who they wanted to see play The Doctor, was pretty quick to effectively laugh off the idea. Check out what she said below in a chat with Heat magazine:
“I didn’t watch it when I was younger – it scared me. I started watching some Doctor Who recently on my own and got too scared. I had to watch it in the daytime – I’m pathetic.
“I might be alright if I’m in it, though, and I don’t have to watch it.”
