‘Britain’s Got Talent’: Egg-thrower Natalie Holt was out to prove point to Simon Cowell

Britain's Got TalentEver since the clip went viral showing viola player Natalie Holt pelting Simon Cowell with eggs during the “Britain’s Got Talent” finale, there was one primary question on our mind: What in the world would compel someone to do this? Why she may be known around the world now for her brief five-second stunt during Richard & Adam’s performance, she will surely never be hired by anyone to perform gigs again. Let’s hope it was worth literally throwing her career away.

Well, we are at least starting to get a little bit more of a sense as to what would compel someone like this, who already has a steady job and no real motivation to make a scene, to try and pull a stunt like this on live TV. Speaking out in a new interview, Holt claims that she was trying to blast Cowell himself for the way in which his music has impacted the way music is perceived:

“I took a stand against people miming on TV and against Simon Cowell and his dreadful influence on the music industry.”

In hearing this quote, a few simple things come to mind:

1. If you hate Simon so much, why did you audition on the show last year with your quartet Raven?

2. Why are you performing on this show in the first place?

3. If you don’t like the direction of music today, why not do something about it? We actually think that there is a movement towards performances that are done with live vocalists, and that fans of real music will always prefer this over miming in the first place.
