‘Game of Thrones’ season 4 spoilers: Lena Headey on what could lie ahead for Cersei
With “Game of Thrones” season 3 ending in less than 24 hours as of this writing, it only makes sense that we would start to take a look at some of the events that could transpire within the world of Westeros moving forward into season 4.
So what could we see coming up for Cersei Lannister? So long as she survives (which is likely, given that there is no reason to kill her off right now), there are two questions that quickly rise to the surface. For one, you have the question as to whether or not she is really going to consider marrying Loras Tyrell and given her utter lack of interest, we’re not altogether optimistic that it will happen.
On the subject of romance (since this is marriage are very different things), could the return of Jaime to King’s Landing spark something him and Cersei again? Lena Headey did not address this in a recent interview with Vulture, but she did open up on the subject as to why Cersei is one of the few female characters on the show who has yet to really bare all:
“I’ve said from day one that I’ve got no problem with [stripping down]. I’ve done it throughout my career. But for this character, it’s been better for her regality and her feistiness to not bare her flesh until she has to. When it’s out of her control. And if that ever happens, it won’t be Cersei being seductive or sexy. She’ll be stripped. That kind of a scene will have more power if it’s not an everyday occurrence. I can’t wait for that.”
With the way in which Headey describes this possible scene, there are almost some parallels between this and Brienne using her body as a source of power earlier on in season 3 with the infamous bathtub scene with Jaime. Perhaps this is ultimately why she and Jaime got on so well…? Okay, we’ll stop that conspiracy now before we go down the same sort of rabbit hole that we’re already stuck in when it comes to “Mad Men” and Megan Draper’s love with Don.

She is clearly describing a powerful scene for Cersei to come in the near future, maybe in season 4 or 5.
