2013 CMT Music Awards: Scotty McCreery, Kellie Pickler add to ‘American Idol’ presence
In case you are wondering and /or are frustrated about the reason why country acts are so popular on singing competitions these days (look at the fact that 67% of the remaining contestants from “The Voice” are from the genre), the reason is pretty simple: This is a genre of music that actually supports people, regardless of where they come from. Then again, it’s also a genre that has around two million awards shows a year.
The CMT Music Awards are going to take place on Wednesday, June 5, and we know that among the presenters there will be a bit of an “American Idol” touch to them with Scotty McCreery and Kellie Pickler, fresh off of her “Dancing with the Stars” victory earlier this spring. Meanwhile, judge Keith Urban, who may or may not return to the show next year for season 13, will be serving as a presenter / performer for the show.
Some of the already previously-reported news includes that Carrie Underwood will perform, and that reigning runner-up Kree Harrison is going to perform on the stage outside along with the most-recent champion of “The Voice” in Cassadee Pope. Next year, we’re sure it’s possible that the likely champ of “The Voice” season 4 (in Danielle Bradbery) will also be there.
Want more news from the CMT Awards? Don’t worry, as we’re going to be covering the show and then some when it airs next week. So for now, just sit back, relax, and prepare for some of the entertaining times ahead.
Are you excited to see this awards show, and do you like how country music seems to embrace some of its own much more than any other genre out there? If you want to know a little bit more about the structure of Kree’s performance on the show, all you have to do is click here.
